Default Clutch Fluid Over Max?

Firstly, there is no detrimental effects of your clutch fluid reservoir being overfilled apart from it spilling and making a mess in your engine compartment especially since it's corrosive to paint. It has no impact on the operation of your clutch system. Same thing goes for the brake reservoir. Being low is a whole different story.
Secondly, your level may have increased due to heat expansion of the fluid and/or having air in the system. If you say your clutch feels funny, then I would suspect you have air in the system and it needs to be properly bled. Hope this helps.
