I actually like the fact that it hasn't been updated performance wise in a while. The lack of drivers "aids" and other electronics imo is an advantage. More of an honest real sports car approach vs we converted this sedan or econobox and added a ton of BS electronics to try and fool you/it into believing it's actually a performance vehicle.

One of my more recent daily drivers was one of those sedans that was converted and while we did make it into a fairly decent track machine it took a lot of time, effort and money to do it. In the end even though it was capable of some really respectable lap times you couldn't forgot that it actually started out originally as a fwd sedan.

The great thing about the Z is that it was designed as a sports car and has stayed true to that. They didn't over complicate it, fill it with techno wizardry or allow the bloat to close in on that 4000lb mark like so many others. Really nice that they've kept it as a 6cyl and not gone the turbo 4 route like everyone else.

It's just they're so close to getting it right. It wouldn't take much, just fix a couple of issues and the car would be awesome. At the nismo's price point they're really isn't any reason not to other than people buy them anyway. If they did that and made 6th into a real overdrive so you could pull 30+mpg with it you'd see a lot more of them out there.
