I think your approach is sound. Way too many women out there looking to find a dude to put a baby in them so they can have a free ride.

My wife made more money than me from the 2nd year we were dating until a couple of years after we were married. But it was an awful job (government IT) and I encouraged her to take a different one which paid less but wouldn't leave her pissed off all the time, and would offer some experience with something besides outdated garbage technology. She's doing great now, and is happy most days after work, she only has one person that bothers her and it's more of a thing we joke about, than her really being upset.

We fight sometimes, but it's never about not having enough money. Usually it's about whose family is more annoying, so we just avoid that whole discussion by agreeing that both of our families are annoying as **** and there is no need to compare because they are both way the **** off the chart.

We have no kids. We have no reason to stay together, except we really enjoy each other's company, which is the best reason to stay together.
