Baby steps first. I'm on my third Z and the only time this happened to me was on the track. When the fluid gets hot or old this will occur. Even my 2015 Nismo did it when she got hot after a dozen track events. Bleed the fluid out from the bottom bleeder and replace it with some Motul 600. Sounds like it only happened once so I'd start there and make sure wifey isn't slipping the clutch or riding with her foot on the pedal.
