Why wouldn't it be the input shaft bearing?

I agree it sounds pretty loud, but I've heard a pretty wide range of chatter on different Z to not think that's anything too serious. However, even on the same Z that noise tends to get louder and quieter as the metal parts expand and contract and the lube viscosity changes with the temperature. So if it's that loud
all the time, then that might be more concerning. It very well could be the bearing going out.
