Do yourself a favor and inform the Insurance co. that's handling this that you intend to file a "Diminished Value" claim.. Your car now has a Carfax record that will result in it being worth less when you eventually go to sell. A diminished value claim will help make you whole on this. Allstate paid me $2200 for my diminished value, over and above a perfect repair payment ($7K).
