Very exciting last couple days as I got my Black 2016 Touring Sport MT. Going to be my DD in Edmonton. I was between a few cars and this is the short version
The criteria for a new car:
MT
Coupe
RWD
<$45K
The contenders:
Older Z4 -Not a huge BMW fan anymore, expensive maintenance
Older Cayman - Great overall, expensive maintenance, same price as new Z
Older M3 - Amazing handling, expensive maintenance, used ones are very abused
09 S2000 - Price too high for 7 year old car, too many KM, hard to find
Toybaru - Slow, cheap interior, boring
When I decided on the Z, I wanted the base model in white but after being in one, I didn't like the interior much and as my DD the interior is critical to me. I wanted heated seats, nav, etc So I checked out the Touring Sport and that was definitely the place to be. Unfortunately in Canada the Touring Sport comes with a white interior if you choose white exterior -- absolute no-no for me. So I ended up getting black/black.
Car history is mainly older Civics, Accords, Integras, TL's, R6, CBR's
First few things I have planned are:
Figure out why the headrest pokes my back?
Paint door handles black
Powder coat rims black
Tint back windows
Learn basic detailing for black cars.
In anticipation of having my member status approved, I have been through much of the forum clipping and bookmarking topics and im really impressed with the work some members have done here. Look forward to learning from you Zeniuses... (i'll show myself out)
