The 4 banger turbo four that is listed is available in the Q50 for MY2016 already. It'll show up in the Q60, which means that if the next Z is to share the same platform, they'll be set up to accommodate multiple engine options.
They still have to greenlight the idea, but the architecture is there for them to go with it.
