Default BC ER Shocks

I bought the shocks from another member, he and just had one of the fronts rebuilt. When I received them the other front was leaking so I stored them and contacted BC. Long story, BC is no help unless you want to send the shock to them and get charged $250 each plus shipping. During this time (4 months of trying to get any info from BC) the freshly rebuilt shock started to leak. This made my decesion to have them rebuilt again easy, No way, close to $600 with the shipping to have them leak again.

Fast forward to now, 2 years, I could not find anyone to work on them. All shops I contacted replied the same. BC not a bad shock but we can't work on them.

I took them apart yesterday and found a small "O" ring installed wrong! I will try to show this in the photos.

Last BC pressure system is the reason no one will work on them. Any other shock has a valve to add pressure after rebuilding, BC uses a rubber plug and a hex set screw. I will be installing a valve during my rebuild and service. All the other parts inside are just standard "O" rings and packings.

As BC would not give me any info on oil weight, Qty, or pressure I'll be using other data to service them.

I should end up with a much better shock when I'm finished.

Toothpick shows the location of the "O" incorrectly seated

This is how it should be!
