BMW can get custom orders from Europe to the US in three months, I don't see why it should Nissan eight months to get a custom order from Japan.
However, I suspect that the dealer was just lying to me in some stupid attempt to get me to buy what he had in stock (which had an auto and was the wrong color).

My initial thought was "Why wouldn't the sales person want to order you a Z and make some money?" After reading your comment, I realized you're probably right. Why put off a sale for months when you can ( try to) make one today!
