Arrow Toyo R888 Review - Daily + Track

What?
I recently picked up a set of Toyo R888 for about 1k shipped.
  • F - 245/40/18
  • R - 275/35/18

================================================== ========

Street Driving
Pros:
  • Traction is other worldly.
  • I can slow the rotation of the earth with braking.

Cons:
  • Brakes locked up in the rain @ 40 mph.
  • Treadwear = 100
  • These tires are LOUD. It sounds like I'm always being followed by a fire engine who's siren is winding down.

================================================== ========

Track Driving

Notes: These tires like a LOT of pressure. When i say a lot, i mean they were rolling the sidewalls @ 40 psi HOT.

Upped to 45 psi HOT, and got better wear an less folding over.

These tires are still very capable of under-steer, with my "braking and turning at the same time". I am admittedly very hard on my front tires.

Repeat to self... Brake first THEN turn.

Cons:
  • Fuel starvation is now more prevalent because i am achieving higher lateral G's.
