Here's a email sent to all who have ecutek. Thought I would post this for anyone looking for info on the new features:

Just wanted to let you know that there is a major Tune update available for your car but requires a special version of EcuTek to install and log.

1. Open Tuner Assist and download both the new tune file and Beta Version of ProECU
2. Click on “File Explorer” to locate the beta and double click on it – (This will install the Beta version of ProECU)
3. Open the Beta Version of ProECU and flash in the new tune file located here - C:\Program Files (x86)\Tuner Assist\Downloaded Files

After flashing in the new tune file you’ll have some new and improved features.

This flash will take 8-10 Minutes!!

Make sure your battery is charged!

If your car has been sitting go for a drive and get the battery charged up.

Flash in a safe location, not on the side of the road.

Submit logs using Tuner Assist.

RaceRom Map Switching
The Map Switching feature allows you to switch between up to four different maps built into a Calibration. You can switch between the maps at the press of a button. Hold down the cancel button for approximately 1 second and you’ll see the tachometer point to the currently selected map. Use the “RES/ACCEL” button to press up and advance the map selection by one. This selection will be indicated by the tachometer pointing to 1,000rpm for Map 1, 2,000rpm for Map 2, 3,000rpm for Map 3, 4,000rpm for Map 4. Pressing the “COAST/SET” button moves the map selection down by 1.

Map 1 is least aggressive and is designed for California/Arizona 91 octane or any fuel that is ethanol-free. This map is less aggressive than stock and should show no ignition correction or KNOCK even on poor fuel. It is NOT designed for 87 or 89 octane.

Map 2 is more aggressive and should work well on cars running 91 octane

Map 3 is more aggressive and should work well on 93 octane

Map 4 is most aggressive and should work well on 93 octane but should be logged before extensive spirited driving is done.

RaceROM Valet Mode
Valet Mode allows the driver to lock the car into a lower performance mode when lending it to a less experienced driver. It can also be used as a supplementary anti-theft system. We do not recommend that car owners rely on it as their only anti-theft solution.
Method of Operation
To turn on the Valet mode
• Engine Off, Ignition On, Cruise Control OFF
• Hold CANCEL for 1 second, car goes into map switching mode and will display what map your currently on
• Use cruise up button until the rev counter reaches redline
• Wait 3 seconds or Press CANCEL to immediately engage valet mode.

To turn off the Valet mode
• Hold CANCEL for 1 second, car goes into map switching mode and will display what map your currently on
• Use cruise up button until the rev counter reaches redline
• Wait 3 seconds or Press CANCEL to immediately disable valet mode.

RaceROM Launch Control (RRLC)
EcuTek has developed RRLC so the Launch RPM can be adjusted LIVE during the Launch Mode.
This allows the driver to select the optimum launch RPM (and therefore engine power output) for the current conditions.
RRLC allows the driver to adjust the launch RPM by pressing the cruise control “res/accel” and “coast/set” buttons while the launch control system is active.

Method of Operation
To activate certain conditions must be met
1. Motor must be warmed up or Launch Control will not activate !
2. Transmission in Gear + Fully Depressing the accelerator pedal + Fully depressing clutch pedal
Press the “res/accel” button to raise the launch RPM. Press the “coast/set” button to lower the launch RPM.
The default Launch Control RPM (set in the ECM ROM) will be used after ECU Programming, ECU Reset or disconnecting the battery.

Thanks

John
