cant really say if they have the same hardness. i'd check with powdercoater Mike on his thoughts heat treating lugs.

if those are stainless steel base, im sure they are fine though.. considering a lot of folks use those flaky duraluminum (sp?) soft material on their aftermarket wheels. try at your own risk.
