I've been told the extra HP comes at the top of the rev band and at the expense of some mid-range. This makes sense to me as I've had this experience with motorcycles (Ducati Testastretta 11-degree vs Superbike valve timings are a good example).

The NISMO is extremely "revvy" for lack of a better word. Unless you're really hammering it, you're never going to notice the extra 18hp and it will probably be slightly slower for more "normal" driving. At 6000 rpm though, hold on tight!

OP: Go with the one you want; they're both fantastic cars. I love the exclusivity, looks, suspension, and wheels/brakes of my NISMO but I'm still jealous of the Touring interior. If you value ride quality/comfort get a base model.
