Most people here could have.
Why didn't you?
1. Because Porsche engines are not known for their reliabality. Try to find a 911 or Cayman with over 100,000 miles. I ASSUME the Z can do 300,000 without issue.
2. Unless you go to new Cayman, the 06-09s have IMS failure issues. Good luck with that....
3. When I test drove one, the dealer started it up, and a big cloud of smoke came out of it. The things are honestly pieces of under-engineered ****. They're great the first 3 years. After that, throw it away or get a $6,000 extended warranty.
4. The Cayman looks like a girls car from a lot of angles.
5. The 911 is HUGE. The thing is as big as a minivan.
I wouldn't buy a cayaman or an 991 and Porsche motors aren't unreliable. Porsche has one of the lowest warranty claims per 100 vehicals out of any auto maker aside from Lexus from 2010-2014. So the only 911 that I can't think of that had an unreliable motor was the 964. And I didn't buy one because well I'm a z nut.
