Personally, I'd buy an upgraded radiator/AC condenser (Z1 sells them), and have an independent mechanic install it.

BTW, $150 for a diagnosis from a dealership is very reasonable (essentially 1 hour of a mechanic's time). If this seems steep, then do not under any circumstances buy a German car.
