(my emphasis) I think italy3541 is right about the cause being the car cooling down - the electrical noises only last a few seconds. My guess would be the engine itself but it could be the exhaust.

As per Amj2020, it's nothing to worry about (assuming the noise is caused by cooling). I don't remember having a vehicle that didn't do it.

Back when I was in high school, I would drive my Mom's Electra 225 with 455 CID engine like it was stolen and it would tick and pop for 10 minutes or so after shutdown.
