to answer your question: theres no 100% set RPM for anything. driving a manual is a lot to do with how it feels. just drive it a bit and you'll get the hang of it. just be gentle with the clutch and you'll find it soon.
of course there are a couple common sense ... "tricks" i guess you could call them.
1) don't redline for no reason
2) don't ride the clutch (that means don't always have it pressed in unless required)
