Typically if it's a hard emblem type I use light weight fishing line and hair dryer. I basically take against the back of emblem which leaves the ds tape. Then the remaining ds tape I use 3m adhesive remover. If you soak the remaining tape in the adhesive remover it practically falls off. I've done this on fresh emblems as well as 20 year old factory emblems. It seems to work much better than goo gone. If it's a vinyl decal then I use my finger to pick/pull it off then adhesive remover. Once done just use some light scratch remover to polish out the area.
