I agree with theDreamer - oil temperature gauge is pretty good; water temperature gauge is a POS. Water temp would be OK (not good, just OK) if it was a lot closer to linear and/or had some markings showing temp at that point. I don't know how accurate the oil temp is* but haven't seen any reports of it being off.

I have a ScanGuageII on the dash for monitoring water temp.

*Edit: The dash gauge agrees very closely with what the car is reporting to the ScanGuageII, but I don't know how close that is to the actual temp.
