They made an actual physical adjustment to the window frame. There is a slight up and down adjustment as well as a little tilt adjustment available. In your situation I would de-ice the lower portion of the window where it enters the door first. Striking the window will eventually break the cheap plastic rollers the regulator cable rolls on, or strip the gears.
