Of course this is just opinion.
I've owned and had driven an 08 350z in many different ways for almost 4 years.
Due to my associations with several Nissan dealers, I had the opportunity to drive & thought of buying a 370 many times but couldn't do it till a month ago.
I & most people didn't experience an increase in power going through the gears like you did. Sound differences? If anything I might have felt some more power at very high rpm. The ride & handling of the 370 might have felt better. Braking was not an issue.
Today I have a 370 automatic. It's my first automatic & my 5th z. Took some time to learn how to drive an automatic, but I'm fine now & feel it's one of the best automatics around. I also still have 2 other Nissans. I guess I'm a Nissan guy
Like my 370 very much. The 08 will always have a place in my heart.
