Like a glove. No, you do not need to remove the support brace. To installed you pull out the carpet. It has 2 brackets that bolt into factory holes. The brackets allow the box to be bolted to them via 2 studs. The only mods to anything factory is that you need to cut 2 small X's in the carpet for the studs to go through, these are covered by the box.
