yah, that's wat i heard especially on the 370Z. on my Fit i just soldered like 2 wires, plugged it in and it worked immediately.
my G and Z both run PAC so i will probably continue running pioneers until im done with the cars.
im kinda due to update my HU in my G. maybe next year. not sure yet. i have a AVH-4100DVD from 2009 in the car. works flawlessly still, but no BT.
