Please, please, please, do NOT be using firearms without hearing protection. Not even to fire off just one or two rounds every now and then. The damage is cumulative. You may not do much damage with one or two shots but you do
some damage and the damage is permanent. There is really no need to get used to the bang of your gun. In an emergency you won't notice it. You will lose some hearing but I'm not gonna recommend stopping to put in earplugs when being attacked.
