Thief is revealed to be a guy from Canada (Brandon, Manitoba) named Kristopher Nicholas Hope who doesn't even own a 370z. He owns a 350z and has been stealing from car forums for a long time, He recently moved to Brandon from Winnipeg where he appears to have been incarcerated at least for a short time:

Turns out the house belonged/belongs to his girlfriend's family. Don Dmyterko passed away in 2011 but his wife and 2 daughters live there. Chris is apparently dating one of the daughters (Tina).
