IMO Prevention is better then deterrence. Turn your front wheels in making them difficult to remove when parked. Park close to the curb making one side need to be jacked up much higher to remove wheels. Don't leave anything in plain sight if you leave anything at all in your car that's valuable.
You're right. I heard about those proximity sensors. I will not install those then. However, having a 2 way is still better than nothing. At least I will (hopefully) be notified as soon as something happens instead of being surprised when I find my car missing. I've had my car stolen before in the past because I only had a 1 way alarm. Didn't do me any good.
