I liked my RX-8, but huge lack of torque and off the line grunt really bugged me. The motor was great when it was new, but around 50k miles, it felt like it was on it's way out. Gas mileage was also terrible. I was averaging around 20-22 mpg on the highway and around 14-16 mpg city. It really got annoying with such a small tank. I had to fill up twice a week on average. Adding oil got annoying after a while also. I don't miss having to warm up the engine to move it a few feet on the driveway. On some occasions, I actually ended up just shifting to neutral and pushing. I really hated changing the oil filter on that thing and have the scars to prove it.

I do miss the smoothness at the high rpm's and the overall feel on the road. It felt light and well balanced. You can drive through twisty roads with confidence. The Z by comparison has a heavier feel to the steering. It's not bad, just different.

I have no regret selling the RX-8 & buying the Z. I like the Evo, but I'm kind of tired of it. I dunno....the Z just feels a bit more grown up.
