It's been driving me nuts as well (mag black here) from the first day I got it.
The conclusion I have come to is there are only two options, and one of them is quoted above.
1. Rear spats. (this is the cheaper version)
2. Amuse bumper. (more expensive, however you wont regret it)
After a little bit of thinking around I'm now saving up for an amuse kit
EDIT: oh and btw tinted tails look sexy on black. I did mine last weekend, came out glorious. (im also in NYC, never been given sh!t about it on the Z. cops dont see enough Z's to tell that its not factory tinted
