I have a HUGE "thread dump area" where I dump threads instead of deleting them. My moderators know to put the threads there too. It's usually member's deleting old threads for whatever reason makes your post count drop. Two main causes of post count drop are:

a. When a premium member deletes a thread you had post(s) in.

b. You're violated forum rules in post where Moderators deleted your post.
