Not really, at least not where wheels and tires are concerned. On a 3 year lease, he would have to replace the tires before turn in, probably right before. Why not take the originals off, buy new wheels and tires and enjoy them for 3 years, then put the new ones on at turn in and sell the wheels. Its still money out of pocket, but at least you aren't buying the new tires for the next owner.

Nothing wrong with leasing if you never pay a car off either, at least you know your total costs going in. I haven't leased a lot of cars (on my 3rd, out of 31 total new car purchases), but all have worked out better than expected.
