18's on a 370z

Nothing wrong with 18's. Guru loaned me his spare set of 18's when I had my rims painted, and the ride was a marked improvement over the 19's. VDC-OFF will tell you the same thing.

Sure you are ultimately giving up some performance, but for the amount of time you really push your car, a more comfortable ride (relatively speaking).

As far as unsolicited advice, here's mine - save your money to get what you really want or you will be either miserable and/or buying another set of rims.
