Sand blasting would be "best" use some brake cleaner/paint thinner, then a mild sanding depending on how smooth you want the finish to be, then you're gold (I did this to some RX7 brake rotors.)
USE THE SPRAY! Lol
You'll get a REALLY OEM, cleaner look with the spray
