From what I remember, and I did have my lights on when the accident happend, I do not remember them switching to or into flasher mode. Then again, I didn't have too many lights left:




Maybe since it was such a head on collision, I messed up some of the wiring and if it was "programmed" to go into hazard, it didn't? I only remember looking at the side corner panel of the drivers side as I walked back to my car and sat down in the drivers seat before being "boarded" and put in an ambulance.
