If you keep it as a seasonal car for 4-5 yrs you should be ok ! But I wouldn't trust any Ford product for long term or high mileage.

My brother has owned Fords for about the last 10 yrs. and has had nothing but troulble with them and this has been as late as 2010 models. He finally make the switch back to chevy and nissan and has a lot better success with them.

The thing that is really bad is that most of the Fords that gave him issues were highway driven and he put on almost 75k miles a year and changed his oil and did maintanance on the car every 3000 miles.

In comparison he had a Ford Ranger pick up that only had about 90 psi of compression after 150k miles, compared to a nissan frontier that he dove to 275K miles and it still had 155 psi of compression when he gave the truck away.

I recently seen an episode TRUCK U where they went into depth on many of the problems with Ford diesel turbos, really scarry when you think of all the problems they have.
