Wish they would tax the fat to pay for their own medical bills, not tax people like us that work to keep ourselves healthy and minimize health care cost. I'm just pissed off I may have to pay more tax for these people in 2013.  |
They proposed that in Illinois, to have a special tax on those who are at certain level of overweight. However, it was ruled unconstitutional
so they tax foods that are unhealthy at higher tax rates (soda, candy, chips, energy drinks)
For example, in downtown Chicago you pay 15% sales tax on redbull
It's stupid because if you live a balanced lifestyle, why should you pay extra for occasional sugar foods...
