I wonder if it has anything to do with oil temperature. Do you think the 2012/2013 oil cooler helps at all? I only started to have this problem during the summer of 2012, which coincidentally was one of the hottest in recent memory in the northeast. I'm talking 100 degrees plus... causing oil temps to approach 250 degrees or higher during spirited driving.
i have a late production 2011, according to a few techs that i spoke to when i went in for my first oil change nissan revised the engine a little during the late 2011 runs to correct issues with oil consumption and looking at their TSB for oil consumption issues it does not apply to 2011 and up Z's. 25,000 miles in on my late production run 2011 and no oil consumption issues at all.
