Considering that this was the cf the chrome ones were originally presented with and the fact that you can't use the emblems without the backing piece I assumed it was the default option. Yes, I know what they say about assumption but here we are.
I'm guessing that this was an oversight or simply a miscommunication and that we'll figure it out. I really was excited to get these on the car but c'est la vie.
