IMO cars with proximity sensors are just asking to be f'd with. The shock sensor, which is generally what people rely on, will not be affected by the cover... the proximity sensor may not either but I wouldn't go that route regardless...

I remember when they came out (when I was in high school) people would purposely throw things at the cars just to set the alarm off.
