Cooling is 50% of better performance and that's why you add high performance pads to this type of brake rotor. The pads shortewn the distance while the rotors stay cool and greatly reduce fade and eventual early warping from aggressive driving. Its not street necessary but you are downplaying the benefit and giving half the information.
