You don't just use the dryer sheet. At least I don't. I take a shop towel (i.e., paper towel) and spray some water on it, and wipe. If the bug crap doesn't come off with that alone, I use a dryer sheet on it and it comes off. But even after that I wipe the spot again with the paper towel to remove any streaks. It's not rocket science.
