uhm...no, it doesn't do sh*t for an N/A car. the intercooler takes the compressed air, which is superhot due to the compression process, and cools it down. you lose pressure and temperature, but typical designs mean the increased density of air at the lowered temperatures make up for the lost pressure

if you're not forced induced and compressing the air, there's no reason to invoke the intercooler and its heat transfer.
