Yes thats true
those motors did have exhaust phasing. But VHR isn't
those motors. It's all in the service manual, and can also be seen if look at a disassembled VHR head.
Notice how the intake valve open and close times have a wide range, and the exhaust valve has 0 range?
No clue why nissan did it this way, maybe they couldn't make it all fit in there with VVEL + exhaust phasing, maybe they are saving it so they can have more power in the next generation engine, maybe cost, who knows.
