The text you quoted is regarding a Nav and DVD bypass kit which is separate to a backup camera! Also, both your posts seem to be pushing the same company, what is your relationship to that company?

But to answer you question. Yes, you do need a harness, those are just cameras.

With a US2010/11 you need a harness which gives you a way of plugging in a camera and getting the factory gridlines that move with the steering wheel. With a US2009/10 you need a video converter and harness and will not get the factory gridlines.

Regarding the cameras themselves, I like many others have used the Kenwood CMOS-200 cameras because it fits exceptionally well, is a very high quality camera and the viewing angles etc are well suited to the gridlines. Those other cameras will work (with a harness) but cant speak to the quality.
