that is any issue with any of the Short-Ram intake kits available for the VQ engine or as a matter of fact with any SRi set-up in lots of cars. Since the intakes are inside the engine bay the will "Heat-soak", hence the "LAG" you feel when you first get on the gas. this topic was talked to death over on the 350Z site with dynos, temp charts etc Needless to say i got rid of my Injen Short Ram on my 350z and went another route. For my 370 i went with the K&N drop-ins + Z1 Post MAF tubes, proven to be one of the best intake set-ups behind the Stillen Gen-III, although the Stillen has is drawbacks as well (makes your car run rich as F)
