I did put thread sealant on all my threads. I feel that's a must. Never had a leak there (male to female part). At one time I had a leak where the line goes into the fitting. Even though it was pretty tight to begin with I had to tighten it more. I ended up turning it 3/4 of a turn. That stop that for sure.
