Exactly. If you occasionally need it, it's better than an open diff. At least until the oil breaks down.

If you need it more than occasionally, it's going to get hot and not act like a diff.

It has nothing to do with the Z and everything to do with how a VLSD works. If you are on a track (or AutoX) you want a real limited slip diff.
