Default Engine Shutoff Wouldn't Restart

Monday night I was driving my Z for about two hours on the highway when the engine cutoff during acceleration. I pulled onto the shoulder of i95 and tried to start it and it would start for about 2 seconds and sputter out. I had it towed to the dealer and it did the same thing in the morning when they tried to start it. They let it sit until the afternoon and when the lead tech tried to start the car it ran normally. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into what the problem could be? The dealer originally thought it was the crankshaft position sensor but there were no codes. The check engine light never came on either. The car has 24k miles I always put 93 octane in it. The oil temp was 185 when the problem started and I wasn't driving aggressively.
