So I'm in the process of purchasing an almost new Alpine PDX5 amp from a fellow forum member. With that on the way its time to turn to upgrading the components and head unit system. I'm not in a rush so I'd rather get the speakers first and wait until I can afford a quality head unit, I prefer a single din, sure the double din looks nice but I think its excessive for my taste.

Crutchfield is running their summer specials and I was wondering what you guys thought of these.

Alpine SPS-600C Type-S 6-3/4" component speaker system — fits in 6-1/2" or 6-3/4" openings at Crutchfield.com

I know its nothing over the top but I had a set in my old Mustang I like them. Would there be a problem fitting the 6 3/4" speakers into the stock door openings? What other setups can you guys advise? I've read and searched and thus far entry level focal and polk seem to be the popular brands.

Also, on the install, I'd rather have it done right the first time so should I completely rewire the speakers and if so how intensive of a project is it?
