Default Question for tuning savvy and/or tuners

Hi guys,

Hope it's not too long to read and I'd greatly appreciate everyone's help on this.

I'm really interested in getting my Z tuned however, there are no UpRev tuners in my country or anywhere nearby close enough to drive to.

The 370Z sold by Nissan dealers here in Panama are Euro-spec, not USDM, but in essence the car is exactly the same.

I purchased UpRev Cipher a while ago and was happy to see it worked (because I had previously tried several other OBD-II scanners and non of them had worked) so I saw a light at the end of the tuning tunnel assuming UpRev Osiris should be able to do the job.

I recently went to the UpRev website to take a look at the upgrade options from Cipher to Osiris and when you're finally going to purchase it asks for the details about your car, what mods you have, your ECU serial number (mine appears listed on Cipher's ECU serial number database), etc.. All this information, I assume, is provided directly to UpRev for them to perform the e-Tunes that are included with Osiris Standard so I could then upload them to my ECU, given the fact that I'm not tuning the car on a dyno at a tuning shop.

The ONE questions that stopped me from purchasing was: WHAT OCTANE OF GAS WOULD YOU LIKE TO TUNE YOUR VEHICLE WITH? The options are 87, 89, 91, and 93.

In that exact moment I went

I live in Panama in Central America and the octane rating is different than the one used in the US. Here in Panama, the same octane ratings are offered on every single gas station, 91 and 95.. I always use 95 on my Z.. However, I understand that there's RON, MON, and AKI octane ratings..

If I'm not mistaken, the AKI rating is used in the US, and the RON rating is used in Panama.. (I could use some input here..)

So, if this is the case, according to a table I found here Wikipedia.org - Octane Rating it appears that:

- MY 91 octane gas equivalent to YOUR 87 octane
- MY 95 octane gas equivalent to YOUR 91 octane

So, long-story-short, would I be "safe" asking UpRev to do the e-tunes on 91 octane (US Rating) and continue to use MY 95 octane gas without my engine blowing up..??

Again, thank you very much if you've read this far and I appreciate any input you could share on this..
